Ark of Fools: Races

Standard races only for starting player characters. No sub-races, no "monster" races. However, due to the timeless nature of the astral plane, individuals may be much older than normally allowed for their race.

We have three main types of characters:

Natives of the Interior, who live short, relatively normal lives (The Ephemerals, or "Dirtsiders")
Natives of the Skin: usually born in the Interior, but moved out. Tend to be long-lived. (The Ageless, or "Skinnies")
Exiles: people who ended up here from another plane for various reasons (freak magical accidents, sent here by powerful wizards, gods, separated from some planar army, etc.) (The Exiled)

The mix in the city: about fifty percent human, the rest split evenly between the other races. NPCs of lots of races may exist.
